Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to clarify the position of the teachers on the subject of when extra help will be offered to Bellport High School students.  At the beginning of the year, the administration asked teachers to pick a day of the week on which to have extra help throughout the year. As the year goes on, we’ve found this approach to be too inflexible.

Individual teachers will reiterate to students which day they will provide extra help. That day may change if the need arises. This will allow the teachers to more effectively provide help before tests. If you would like to be informed of the week’s extra help day, please feel free to email your child’s teacher (a directory is found on the district’s website, www.southcountry.org) or call the office (730-1575) to leave a message.

This change will allow us the flexibility to better tailor the extra help opportunity to your child’s needs. We look forward to working with those students who are looking to go the extra mile to be successful.
